Well the rice bags(tm) were a resounding success. The bed was toasty and there were smiles abound. Who needs electric blankets or hot water bottles? Not us (But i can guarantee we'll be bloody buying some if we see them!)

Heya guys,
Oh my god...! I have finally started reading your blog after the tip off from marcus to check it. I think I am addicted to it now. I haven't read such funny stuff in a long time. I can remember when Jess and I started our time in Japan, and how we felt like "What have we done?!?" and now after reading about all of your exploits, it makes me feel so much better. You guys did it hard!
I remember arriving at our appartment, and there was such minimal furniture, and no westerners to speak of, and no food. In fact we were minus most household items, until they arrived en masse the next day in a massive parcel. We were paged from downstairs, and we didn't even know where the sound was coming from, and even once we worked it out, and picked it up, couldn't converse with the guy on the other end.
I assure you it'll all work out, and you'll buy enough things to make your apartment an awesome home! Enjoy making your mark on it!
Teaching will be the next challenge that I have no shadow of a doubt that you'll both overcome no problems.
I remember that when it came time to teach, that was round number II, and we were ready to hightail it for the hills. Initially scary, but in the long run, something to savour. Be confident in your english ability. I mean, I've heard you both use English before, and am pretty convinced that you can grasp your own native tongues.
A few ol' faithfuls:
-low level students; 'I like' and 'I don't like' lesson. You'll be amazed at how long you can draw this out! seriously. Food, seasons, music...the list goes on.
Set them on each other.
-Mid level; a 'phone conversation with a friend'. Could go anywhere, and always does. If this fails... 'ordering food over the phone. It's all about working English in real scenarios.
-High level students; tongue twisters. Both incredibly helpful for pronunciation, and an incredible challenge for you...not to wet your pants, that it.
I hope I haven't stepped on any toes, but stay in touch!
And for god's sake, kepp blogging...yes that's both of you!
