As another week draws to a close, here are some photos of the random odd things we see on a daily basis...
If it can be strapped on or held, then it can be transported on a scooter. Also this week on scooters I have seen a table strapped over the back, and today in a personal favourite - a scooter across the leg section of a scooter! To quote the chinglish of Adidas "Impossible is Nothing".
Our timetables were changed on Monday, and we needed to buy some correction fluid to amend our schedules. Everything here is cute, especially stationery. Couldn't refuse picking up a Flatbear tape....Flatbear wants to laze in the warm sunshine!
On both Tuesday and Wednesday we awoke to find hundreds of kids decked out in sports gear all milling around, not doing very much. After much curiosity we found out that they were Junior 3 students from other schools participating in Physical Examinations. All part of the process here to go to Senior High School! These poor kids stood out in the sun all day. They had to run around the athletics track, and when they weren't doing that they were forced to skip on platforms or bounce balls on their wrists...go figure.
This lovely view is opposite the school. On every street you are bound to see a large area of rubble where previously a building stood. The rubble isn't cleared away though. Oh no. It's left so that people can pick through it to salvage various items to then sell. You wouldn't believe how many people rummage through here day and night. You are never far away from feeling humbled here.
This afternoon we went to this large market in Wuxi, which we have been wanting to visit for some time. This place is HUGE, I'm surprised we made it out before nightfall. Sadly it was pretty crap. On the way out though we spotted all these old guys fishing in the canal out the front...mmh mmh..canal fish for dinner! One of our purchases at the market. It used to be a cube. Supposedly it goes back together again. I think it will remain in this form forever more.
On the way home we stopped at a coffee house, my mistake, "House Coffee" for a cuppa. I really don't know why Marcus persists in trying to order a latte....yes, that's whipped cream and lemon this time in the most decadent cup you could think of.
Have a great weekend all =)

I'm an American teaching English at a university in Shenyang. I found this blog on Google doing a search for Flat Bear. Hello Kitty is NOTHING compared to Flat Bear. I bought three rolls of Flat Bear correction tape to give to my American friends. If there were more, I would have bought them.
