A gripe with Mother Nature (Courtney)
Oh yeah, that's right folks, whilst it might be a sunny 35 degrees...it in reality feels like 45. Yup 45 freaking degrees!!! What is going on?? The first week of July, and as expected, the weather has lost its mind. Supposedly we have 2 solid months of this put up with. Just great when you remember that we are about to embark on a pretty full on journey around the entire country.
Oh the irony, that we are finally on holidays...and yet do not want to leave the house!!! Whhhyyyyyeeeee!!!!!
The school lake is looking more and more appealing....kind of like what I imagine an oasis would look like if one was lost in the desert.
On top of basically being housebound over the last few days (which we need anyways), not being able to sleep even with the airconditioner on, the mossies have reared their ugly heads again and this time in massive numbers. Last night we killed no less than 40 of the little darlings. You start to question your sanity when it's past midnight, you've had a freezing cold shower to try and cool down and you are aimlessly wandering the house, electric tennis racket in hand, trying singlehandedly to outwit the entire mosquito population of the wider Jiangsu province.

I was on the train into Shanghai yesterday, temperature outside was given as 43.1 C. So, there's your answer, it's as hot as you think it is.
Funnily, it's actually cooler in Thailand, only about 31 at the mo.
